Terms of Service
Last updated November 2, 2026
These terms govern your use of OpenBookings, whether you book through an AI assistant or our website, list a business, or connect software to our booking service. Please read them. By using OpenBookings you agree to them.
1. About these terms
OpenBookings (openbookings.ai) is operated by 10356689 Canada Inc., operating as MicroAngel, 138 rue Tobago, Dollard-des-Ormeaux QC H9G 2X5, Canada ("OpenBookings", "we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and is part of these terms.
If you use OpenBookings for a business, you accept these terms for that business and confirm that you are allowed to do so.
2. What OpenBookings does
OpenBookings is a directory and booking service for local appointments. AI assistants and our website send us a request, such as a haircut on Saturday afternoon near you. We check the calendars of participating businesses, return the soonest nearby openings, and, when you choose one, add the booking to that business's calendar.
We are not the provider of the services you book. The business you book is responsible for the service, its quality, its prices, its policies and its conduct. Your appointment is an arrangement between you and the business.
Some listings are created from public information before the business has claimed them, and some listings marked "Example data" are invented so people can try the product. A booking with an example business is not a real appointment.
3. Who can use OpenBookings
You must be at least 14 years old to book through OpenBookings, and if you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's permission. You must be of the age of majority, and authorized by the business, to claim or manage a listing.
4. Booking an appointment
- Give accurate information, including a name and a way for the business to reach you. Book only for yourself or for people who asked you to book for them.
- Before you confirm, check the business, service, date, time and any price shown. Prices and descriptions come from the business and may change; you pay the business directly, not us, unless we tell you otherwise.
- A booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation code. Keep it: you need it, with the email or phone you booked with, to look up or cancel the booking.
- You can cancel through your AI assistant or on our website until the cancellation cutoff shown for the booking. After that, contact the business. The business's own cancellation and no-show policies apply.
- Searching and booking are free for you. If that ever changes, we will tell you clearly before you book.
Openings come from the businesses' calendars at the moment you search. We work to keep them accurate, but a time can be taken or changed by the business after we show it. If a booking cannot be honoured, the business or we will try to tell you as soon as possible.
5. Booking through an AI assistant
You choose to add OpenBookings to your AI assistant, and the assistant acts on your instructions. Assistants can misunderstand a request or describe results inaccurately. Review the details your assistant shows you before you confirm a booking. We are responsible for the openings and bookings our service returns, but not for what your assistant says, does or stores. The assistant's provider has its own terms and privacy policy.
6. For businesses
- Claiming a listing. Only the business or someone it authorizes may claim or manage its listing. We verify claims by email and may ask for more proof. We may refuse or reverse a claim we believe is not genuine.
- Accuracy. You are responsible for the services, durations, prices, hours and rules you publish, and for keeping your calendar up to date so it shows when you are busy.
- Calendar connection. When you connect a calendar, you authorize us to read your free and busy times and to create and cancel the booking events we make, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time.
- Honouring bookings. You agree to honour bookings made through OpenBookings within the hours and rules you set, and to treat customers' personal information as confidential and use it only to provide and manage their appointment. You are responsible for your own obligations to customers under privacy and consumer law.
- Your private link. Your management page opens through a private link. Do not share it; anyone with it can change your listing. If it leaks, claim the listing again to get a new one.
- Fees. Listing a business and receiving bookings are currently free. If we introduce fees, we will tell you at least 30 days before they apply, and you can stop taking bookings before then.
- Content. You keep ownership of the content you provide (such as your business name, descriptions and photos). You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it, and to share it with AI assistants and people searching, in order to operate and promote OpenBookings.
- Removal. You can pause AI bookings or ask us to remove your listing at any time.
7. Developers and AI platforms
Our booking service is available at a public MCP endpoint. You may connect AI assistants and agents to it to search and book on behalf of real users who asked for it. You must respect the published rate limits, identify your application honestly, show users the details of a booking before you make it, and not cache, resell, or build a database from our listings or openings. We may change, limit or stop access to protect the service.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- make fake, speculative or abusive bookings, or hold times you do not intend to use;
- impersonate anyone, or claim a listing you are not authorized to manage;
- scrape or copy the service in bulk, or overload it, including by getting around rate limits;
- probe, attack or interfere with the security of the service, or access data that is not yours;
- use the service to send spam or to harass anyone;
- use the service in a way that breaks the law or the rights of others.
9. Our intellectual property
OpenBookings, its software, design, name and logo belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a limited, personal, revocable right to use the service as described here, and no other rights.
10. Third-party services
OpenBookings works with services run by others, such as AI assistants, Google Calendar and other calendar systems, Nango for calendar connections, and Cloudflare for email. Their terms and policies apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for services we do not control.
11. Disclaimers
We provide OpenBookings as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every opening will still be free when you book, or that a business will provide its service as described.
Consumers in Quebec and elsewhere: nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act or other consumer protection laws that cannot be waived. If a clause of these terms is not allowed by the law that applies to you, it does not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits or revenue, arising from your use of OpenBookings. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 Canadian dollars.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including, for consumers in Quebec, liability for our own intentional or gross fault and for bodily or moral injury.
13. Indemnity (businesses and developers)
If you use OpenBookings for a business or connect software to it, you agree to compensate us for claims, losses and reasonable costs caused by your breach of these terms, your services, or the content you provide. This section does not apply to consumers.
14. Suspension and termination
You can stop using OpenBookings at any time. We may suspend or end your access, remove a listing, or cancel bookings if you break these terms, if we need to protect users or the service, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we will tell you first. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as limitations of liability, continue after termination.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will give businesses at least 30 days' notice by email. Changes do not affect bookings already made. If you keep using OpenBookings after a change applies, the new terms apply to you.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of the judicial district of Montreal have jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring a claim in the courts of the place where they live as their local law allows. Before going to court, please write to us so we can try to resolve the problem.
17. Language
These terms are available in French and English. You can read either version, and you may ask for the French version at any time. Les présentes conditions sont offertes en français et en anglais.
